Homemade Flax Granola Recipe

It is literally FREEZING today in NYC, so I am hunkering down with some light reading, a good cup of coffee and my favorite flax granola! Yum! 

Love this anti-inflammatory Flax Granola recipe from The Lyn-Genet Plan. 

  • 1 cup whole flax seed
  • 1/2 cup water 
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon clove
  • 1/8 cup raisins 
  • 1/4 cup raw almonds
  • 1/4 cup raw walnuts
  • 1/8 cup unsweetened dried cranberries
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  1. Combine the flax seeds with water and season with cinnamon and other desired spices. Refrigerate up to 8 hours or overnight. Spread in a thin layer on a baking sheet and bake at 275° F for 50 minutes to an hour, turning several times to dry out.
  2. During the last 10 minutes add raisins, nuts, and other dried fruits of your choosing, let cool and store in an airtight container. Enjoy! 

** Portion size recommended is 1 C. Flax Granola + 1/2 C. Unsweetened Coconut Milk + 1/2 C. fresh Blueberries.
